Scholarly Research

Here, you can find the original research I have completed while being a graduate student (Spring 2022-Present). The subject matter ranges from the archival to the hotly rhetorical.

Check back here for my original research, as I will be making sure to update this page with more of my work, including those I wrote and presented while being an undergraduate student (Fall 2016-Spring 2021)!

Grad School Projects

The following three projects were originally written and submitted for courses I took during the pursuit of my M.A. in Rhetoric and Composition (R&C) The first two below come from my ENC6952 "R&C Capstone" course, which I completed in Fall 2024. The third project below comes from my ENC6740 "Global Black Rhetorics" course. This work led to my panel presentation at the 2024 Conference on College Composition & Communication, and led to my getting recognized with their "Scholars for the Dream" award.

For those interested in my more multimedia projects, stay tuned, and/or watch this "Professional Career Pitch" video I made, which was also done for ENC6952, and which I geared with Losey Law PLLC in mind!

Career Profile Assessment

My first big paper for ENC6952 required me to conduct an interview with somebody in the field and/or working a position I seek to someday occupy myself. Thus, I interviewed & wrote about Dillon Lowery, a corporate lawyer working for Foley and Lardner LLP.

Career Plan Assessment/Predictions

For this project, which will take on many forms beyond its pages, I cast the arc and trajectory of my burgeoning professional career, describing in detail my short & long-term goals, my reasons for wanting to go to law school, and backup plans/alternative career paths.

Nommo, or the Generative Power of the Spoken Word

This paper was originally the culmination of my going through Dr. Esther Milu's ENC6740 course, centered around her & Dr. Ronisha Browdy's understanding of Global Black Rhetorics (GBR). After compiling a literature review on the concept, I wrote about the origins of this African concept, traced it to other diasporic cultures, and explored its presence in contemporary Western civilization.
